One option is to use the Wireless Display App, which mirrors your PC to your Xbox. There are, however, other options, that will allow you to access Steam on your console.
To be more specific, the 3rd party controller/device would provide some subset or superset of let's say dualshock's different controller inputs. Steam isnt currently available on the Xbox. Let's say, that I would like to create support for some other 3rd party controller or device to be used as a game controller. Third-party options such as the Logitech F310 and the Thrustmaster GPX Lightback are similarly plug-and-play, and will work with most PC games the same way an Xbox gamepad would. As stated elsewhere, apple is adding support for xbox and dualshock controllers, in the next ios, ipados, macos versions.
